Since my college days I have been an admirer of botanical gardens. Over the last few years, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden has become a home away from home for me. A place to observe, contemplate, rest and create art through my lens. I have taken several classes there, from Botanical Drawing to Digital Photography. Many of these photos were taken there. In short: look for nature wherever I can find it…creeping into a subway station as an errant vine, a cactus thriving thousands of miles from home in a desert conservatory, or in a planter in the bright windows of my city apartment.
In the same way that animals in my urban world are rare, I have begun seeking out opportunities to photograph them whenever possible. This usually means a zoo environment, at least for now.
I sell, exhibit and occasionally donate my photography. Contact me for inquiries!
